Tanwax Lake and Byron Lake are available for your enjoyment. |
|
Tanwax Lake is a 172 acre lake stocked on a regular basis by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Fishing is allowed from late April through October. We have some great pictures of fish caught on the lake. There are perch, bass, trout and cropie waiting to be caught. Become a celebrity and get your picture into our Fish Stories book. Relax on the beach, take a swim, what more could you ask for? Tanwax is about 2.5 miles long and we have a boat launch for your convenience. The lake is open for water skis and jet skis. In addition to Tanwax Lake there is a smaller lake here called Byron Lake. Except for the wandering trail system and a dock, Byron Lake is 25 acres undeveloped and unspoiled. All the property around the lake is owned by the camp. The lake was stocked not too long ago and people do enjoy fishing there. Take a 10-minute hike to our private Bryon Lake and you will be surrounded by undisturbed nature. Hike a little further and you will be at the "lost woods" primitive camping area, on Byron Lake. There is a beautiful meadow looking out over Byron Lake where many couples have made their marriage vows. It is truly a beautiful place for a summer wedding.
